Red Lodge Mountain Information
Red Lodge Mountain Resort sits close to the town of Red Lodge with the Red Lodge Mountain as its main center. It is a destination spot for many travellers, mainly for winter activities and recreation that has been entertaining and caring for visitors from across the world since the 1960's.
Red Lodge Mountain is the heart and soul of the Red Lodge Ski Resort, actively sharing its warmth and hospitality with thousands of annual tourists from across the planet. It has a range of activities, facilities and amenities, all of which make it a very popular wintertime destination.
Red Lodge Mountain's season starts at the end of November and runs through to the middle of April. The upper part of the mountain is open from 9am to 3:30pm daily and the lower part is open at the same time, but closes half an hour later.
The mountain has drops vertically by two thousand, four hundred feet, with its elevations at the base being over seven thousand feet and at the summit being over nine thousand feet. There are eight lifts in total, including two fast quads, four double type chairs, one triple type chair and one hand tow. All of the lifts combined can handle about ten thousand skiers each hour. In fact, there are about seventy-three well-groomed slopes and trails, thirty acres of extreme skiing fun, sixty acres of tree type skiing and another sixteen hundred acres of forest areas. Generally, the trails and slopes are geared for beginner (14%), intermediate (29%), advanced (34%) and expert (23%) skiers. The Lazy M ski run is the mountain's longest, going some two and a half miles.
Skiers can look forward to an average snowfall of about two hundred and fifty inches per season. This is coupled with varied programs and facilities to make any skiing holiday fun, including kids' daycare programs, kids skiing programs, reservation facilities, a gift shop, skiing lessons, ski equipment rentals and repair, a restaurant, two bars, two cafeterias and a large terrain park.
