Yellowstone River is closed right now. The opening date depends on the area that you are fishing. The earliest fishing date in the park is may 24. Consult park regulations.

The voluntary closures from noon to 6:00PM have now been made mandatory. The warm water temps have prompted the Park Service to issue mandatory closures on many of the popular rivers from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. I recommend not fishing past Noon, so ... [more]

Yellowstone waters have been getting hot and the NPS has issued angling advisories. Please do not fish between 12 and 6pm. Catching a fish will stress it out and possibly kill it.
